Albert Joseph Sampson
1922-2012
SAMPSON, Albert Joseph – 89, Lower L’Ardoise, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2012, in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Lower L’Ardoise, he was a son of the late Freeman and Ada (Briand) Sampson. He was a veteran of the Second World War.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline Sampson; sons, Clark, L’Ardoise; Glenn (Alana), Dartmouth; Gary (Valerie), Glace Bay; daughter-in-law, Cathy, L’Ardoise; brother, Ray Sampson, Halifax; sisters, Delina Martell, Christina MacKenzie and Annie Hill, all of Halifax; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Kenneth Sampson, brothers, Cornelius, Urban, Jules, Arthur John and Alphie; sisters, Evelyn, Alvina, Mary, Clara and Mary-Alvina.
At the time of his death, Albert was a resident of Richmond Villa, St. Peter’s. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff who made his transition from home easier and took the time to stop and chat with him daily. Your caring will be forever appreciated. Also thanks to the Strait Richmond Hospital staff for their kindness.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in Holy Guardian Angels Funeral Home, L’Ardoise on Sunday February 5, from 2-9p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10a.m. in Holy Gaurdian Angels Roman Catholic Church, L’Ardoise, with Father Mariadoss Lourdusamy officiating. Burial in Holy Guardian Angels Parish Cemetery. Donations in Albert’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of his son, Kenny, or to Activity Dept. of Richmond Villa, St. Peter’s.
