Charles Brian MacDougall
1948-2012
It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Brian MacDougall announces his passing on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the age of 63 at his home in Kemptown, NS, surrounded by loving family and friends. Born in Inverness and raised in Port Hastings, Brian lived most of his adult life in Ontario. He moved back to Nova Scotia after retiring in 2007. Brian was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
Brian moved to Ontario as a teenager and started working with Facelle where he enjoyed a 41 year long career, and made many life long friends. Brian was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, where he also made many life long friends. He enjoyed golfing, curling, bowling, playing cards, shuffleboard and horseshoes, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. Brian was a giving and generous man, always ready to lend a helping hand, and had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Cindy; daughter Melissa (Larry) Michaud, Milton, ON and sons David (Jodi), Calgary, AB and Kevin (Erin), Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Larissa, Brandon, Samantha, Dylan, and Bryce; His mother, Mary (MacNeil) MacDougall of Port Hood; sisters, Barbara (Joe) Gillis, Paula (Danny) O’Toole, Louise MacIsaac, Betty (Robert) Watts; brothers, Donald (Debbie) MacDougall, John MacDougall, Lester MacDougall; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, John Duncan MacDougall.
A memorial service will be held in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury at 11am Saturday, January 28th, followed by a reception at Glencoe Station Hall in Glencoe. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the Palliative Care Unit of the Colchester Regional Hospital.
